Tropical Legumes III had its annual meeting on 26-27, February, 2017 at ICRISAT, HQ Patancheru- Hyderabad, India. The main objectives of the meeting were:
- To discuss breeding program self-assesment and set baselines for program improvement
- To develop product concepts and improved breeding process pipelines
- To update seed production targets and gender-responsive variety adoption roadmaps, and
- To work out a plan of data sharing, management, analysis and publication
InterDrought-V an international conference to debate key issues and strategies relevant for improving crops yield and stability under drought and other stress conditions is scheduled to be held during 21-25 February, 2017 at Hyderabad, International Convention Center (HICC), Hyderabad, India. Tropical Legumes III organized Genetic Gains Program Improvement Work Plan workshop in Nairobi, Kenya during 1-2 Sep, 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya. The workshop was held under the theme "Increasing the Gentics Gains of Project Partners Breeding Programs". The main objective of the workshop was to use the results of the Breeding Program Assesment Tools (BPAT) as a resource to help guide our breeding program in improving its targeting, speed, scale, efficiency, quality (control, precision and accuracy according to its unique characterstics and resources.

Tropical Legumes III Community had its first annual meeting during 3rd & 4th March, 2016, at Chrismar Hotel Livingstone, Zambia. This annual meet was organized on the sidelines of the "Pan-African Grain Legume and World Cowpea Conference" during 28 February to 4 March 2016 at the AVANI Victoria Falls Resort.
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Feed-the-Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Grain Legumes (Legume Innovation Lab), and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), in collaboration with major international agricultural research organizations and development partners and sponsors, proudly announce the holding of the Joint Pan-African Grain Legume and World Cowpea Conference on 28 February to 4 March 2016 at the AVANI Victoria Falls Resort (formerly the Zambezi Sun Hotel) in Livingstone, Zambia.
