Goals & Objectives

The project’s overall goal is to develop and disseminate improved legume varieties and is organized in seven objectives.

  • Leverage gender and learning to maximize poverty and food security impacts for smallholder farmers.
  • Enhance groundnut productivity and production in focus geographies of sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
  • Enhance cowpea productivity and production in focus geographies of SSA.
  • Enhance common bean productivity and production in focus geographies of SSA.
  • Enhance chickpea productivity and production in focus geographies of SSA and South Asia (SA).
  • Develop sustainable and impact-oriented legume seed systems for smallholders in SSA and SA.
  • Project oversight and management to implement results-based management approaches to assure accountability, learning and scalability.
